Imagine carefully decorating your Christmas tree with ornaments, lights, and bows, only to suddenly realize that an intruder has decided to settle right in the middle of the branches. Well, that’s exactly what happened to an American woman who shared the bizarre experience on her social media.
In the video made by the TikToker, we see a skunk hiding in the decorated artificial tree; “I don’t understand how this thing got into my house,” she captioned the clip. “I’m literally freaking out right now,” she said to the camera. “I have no idea how this skunk got into my house and climbed onto my tree, and I’m trying to get it out, but it won’t let me, and I just don’t know what to do. I don’t know how it got in here; I don’t leave the doors open,” she explained.
The skunk can be seen sitting calmly at the bottom of the Christmas tree, staring intently at the woman. The video, of course, quickly went viral, and many internet users commented on what they would do in that situation: “Girl, I would pack my bags and let him keep the tree and the house,” wrote one; “New fear unlocked!” said another.
The woman later explained that it took about 10 minutes to get the skunk out of the house because it was scared and ended up fleeing under the sofa. “I moved the sofa with all my strength and just went ahead and surrounded him like an American football player, then I caught him and calmed him down, and then I put him outside. As an animal lover with three dogs, two snakes, a bearded dragon, and a cat, I probably would have kept him if he didn’t smell so terrible,” she joked.
